Biting more than I can chew…
It is Sunday night and I am having quite an emotional evening. Clips from the Manning brothers’ childhood (Colts vs. Giants game is on), great great movie – The lives of Others and an emotional ending to Cupcake Wars. Now watching The Great Food Truck Race. Yes, yes, I am a Food Network junkie.
Anyway, so we had Emma’s first birthday party this weekend, and however I have a few complaints (about my lack of planning), everybody seemed to have had a great time. I will post some pictures after I get them from my friend Joel who was kind enough to be our photographer.
A few notes to anybody wanting to throw a party:
1. do your planning well ahead of time.
2. don’t assume you are going to have time to do anything on the day of the event – on the day of the event you should be only setting up and the extra time should just be used for incidentals aka things your forget. I repeat, don’t leave anything for the last day.
3. if you can afford to hire help (for cleaning up, help keeping things running smoothly, DO IT!
Anyway, let’s see who wins the $50k prize on the NFTR. Sleep tight and have an awesome week!! <

Party Planning
Time has passed so fast and this past year has really flown by. It is impossible to say this and it not sounding cliché, but the day my baby was born feels like yesterday. Emma is turning ONE, everybody! Before Emma was born I had thought about all these things. Her first this, her first that, etc. and i had planned not to throw a big party for her first birthday. Well, after a year of sleep deprivation and all else deprivation I feel we all deserve to celebrate we’ve made it to one year :) Meeting my daughter and spending with her this last year has been beautiful, rewarding, tiring, amazing, everything to me in everyway. That’s just one reason. The other is that I love to entertain and to throw parties. I love the process… the invitations, the menu planning, choosing the cake, buying decorations, etc. I LOVE that. I will you posted. The party is next Saturday and I still have a lot of things to do. I gotta run now. xoxo

In Pittsburgh...!!
I got Emma a great book. It is a about colors, not primary colors. Think your regular book about colors, but on crack. I hope she enjoys it.
Well, I gotta get some work done tonight so I can enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Going to the Zoo tomorrow, more museums on Sunday and Monday... a little more exploring and probably some ladies time with my mom (getting a mani, pedi and some make-up shopping and hopefully some shoe shopping too :))
